Hi all, here we are then. We've got the results gathered together for you to peruse. There were 168 voters in the end, which again surpasses all previous totals.
That's not to say that all of them have been used in compiling the chart. This site isn't about seeing which band has the biggest fan-base, it's about people who are fans of music and what is the best single - hopefully pretty subjectively. From hereonin the new rule is - voters coming from band fansites won't be counted. So, some of the votes had to be discounted, but still, this left 112 voters (and therefore 1120 individual song votes) with which to compile the Top 50 singles.
The results were sorted out as follows. Your votes were submitted into a database, containing all the songs. I then simply got the database to tot up the totals and compile the chart. The scoring system remains the same as previous years, the old tried and trusted "10 points for a number 1 vote, down to 1 point for a number 10 vote" system. Because the chart itself is compiled by sorting the list of songs by the following criteria (in order of importance, the subsequent criteria used if there was a tie):
Well, I hope not, but if you do spot a mistake, please let me know, and after some cursing, I'll sort it out.
So, let's get on with why we're here.....
Indeed - been a while coming, but, of course, what better way to relive the songs of the year in their musical Spotify glory? All done, in 50 to 1 format, all should be present and correct. Find any missing? Let me know and I'll try and find the replacement.
